Coordinator of Environmental Education & STEM Career Awareness (Program Coordinator I), Minimum Salary: $48,726, Ruth Patrick Science Education Center ( RPSEC ) at USCA

The Coordinator of Environmental Education and STEM Career Awareness is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering innovative environmental education and STEM programs that inspire students, educators, and the public throughout the Central Savannah River Area ( CSRA ). This position promotes environmental literacy while increasing awareness of STEM career pathways by connecting classroom learning with real-world applications and workforce opportunities.

Responsibilities include PK-12th grade outdoor education programs offered at off-campus sites of our education partners including Savannah River Site, Hopelands Gardens, Silver Bluff Audubon Center, and Bridgestone plants. Teaching will include content in a variety of STEM fields including outdoor education and working with and caring for various animals housed at the RPSEC including birds, reptiles, and amphibians. This position will work with schools in the area to support STEM career awareness including supporting and participating in career-related events  Coordinator of Environmental Education and STEM Career Awareness will also teach courses or workshops for teachers, work with special programs offered through the RPSEC and partner organization and work to secure external funding.

The motto of the RPSEC is, "Infusing a Love for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics" and seeks to do so for people of all ages. The RPSEC is a cooperative effort between the University of South Carolina Aiken, business, industry, and schools in the Central Savannah River Area of South Carolina and Georgia. A major focus of the RPSEC is to serve as the outreach arm of USC Aiken to K-12 schools in the region.
