Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean of Student Success & Retention, the Student Engagement Coordinator plans, develops, implements, and coordinates initiatives and activities that foster student engagement, development, and success. The Coordinator cultivates positive relations to create high-quality, engaging experiences for current and prospective students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates student engagement activities, including new student orientations, student engagement events, student development workshops, campus tours and visits, and other engagement opportunities. Assists in the continuous development, implementation, and promotion of student engagement in partnership with all Student Success & Retention colleagues as well as faculty and staff across campus.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for student leaders and volunteers, including, but not limited to, Campus Ambassadors, Student Government Association, Student Leadership Council, and Student Organizations.
- Coordinates selected special events such as graduation ceremonies, awards ceremonies, pinning ceremonies, and student/public events. Ensures that public events enhance the College's image and align with the College's mission.
- Ensures that services focus on improving student engagement, success, and retention. Tracks quantitative data on services and collaborates with faculty, staff, and students for additional input. Uses data outcomes to align services for optimal efficiency. Assists in the implementation of a campus-wide intervention system.
- Supports campus food pantry initiatives, including program coordination, and operational assistance. Serves as a liaison with other departments for campus-wide and divisional student events through providing support and resources as needed. Actively attends and participates in departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings. Serves on College committees, as requested by the supervisor. Attends and participates in professional development opportunities. Completes other duties as assigned accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner.
