Engineering specialists support engineers in the design, modification, improvement, and maintenance of products, processes, and systems in support of nuclear facility operations and missions. Activities include identifying and recommending improvements/preventive actions, inspecting, testing, maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment and systems. They may develop/configure software and/or applications. They monitor processes, estimate costs, make, or verify calculations, and analyze and interpret data. They test new and modified products, processes, and/or systems.

Duties & Responsibilities Include
This position supports the Operational Technology (OT) department, which provides essential process control, design software, and manufacturing systems to safely, securely, and effectively operate the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) facilities. This position will assist in developing and maintaining software solutions to support site operations.
Essential Qualifications- Experience/ certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Bentley Micro Station, including experience with 2D drafting and a foundational understanding of 3D modeling.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Ability to create, modify, and edit CAD drawings.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot minor software or technical issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized and capable of prioritizing work across multiple projects or priorities.
- Comfortable navigating a Windows-based work environment and managing file structures.
- Basic knowledge of plotting and printing from Micro Station or other CAD platforms.
- Willingness to learn on the job and adapt quickly to unique project needs or requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
- Internship experience or academic projects demonstrating hands-on use of Micro Station or similar CAD platforms.
- Familiarity with civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering concepts relevant to the CAD role.
- Experience working with supplementary CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Smart 3D.
- Awareness of applicable engineering or construction industry standards, codes, or practices.
