Job Family DescriptionEngineering Support roles encompass a diverse range of positions that provide technical assistance and expertise to engineering teams across various disciplines. These roles may involve tasks such as conducting research, performing analyses, and assisting in the design and development of engineering projects. Engineering support professionals work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.

Designers develop designs and generate design output documents in Electrical, Plant Design, and Civil/Structural/Architectural discipline areas. Responsibilities include generation of design drawings and documents in accordance with applicable codes and 3D Modeling as applicable. Designer responsibilities include (not limited to) design of equipment (including panels and cabinets), ducting, piping, raceways, glove boxes, and electrical and structural features to conform to codes, optimize operations and maintenance activities, ensure constructability, and provide worker safety.
They also prepare, review and approve design change forms, review vendor documents, incorporate details into 3D models, and resolve construction issues.
Duties & Responsibilities Include
- Design of tooling, fixturing, and training objects using PTC Creo Parametric & Windchill.
- Execute the entire lifecycle of manufacturing design engineering projects, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers across the Nuclear Security Enterprise on MCAD and other topics related to job function.
- Collaborate and assist product engineering in digital thread activities and other areas as identified.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field. Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered.
- Working experience with PTC Creo Parametric version 8 or later.
- Experience with tooling, fixturing, or equipment design.
- Working experience with advanced drafting techniques.
- Working experience with Windchill 11.1 or later.
- Working experience with, and training in, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 and Y14.43.
- Experience with additive manufacturing.
