Senior Project Engineer

* Key Accountabilities:
*** Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale manufacturing expansion initiatives, including various new Machining methods at the Aiken site.
* Serve as the primary project lead coordinating cross-functional work streams across Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Quality,
* Logistics, Purchasing, Controlling, HR, IT, and external partners
* Define project scope, objectives, schedules, and governance structures in alignment with global manufacturing standards, timelines, and budgetary targets.
* Deploy established manufacturing processes and standards from global reference sites while enabling adaptation and innovation to support local production requirements.
* Coordinate facility planning, building modifications, equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover to operations.
* Plan, lead, and facilitate technical workshops and alignment sessions with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure project milestones, deliverables, and operational readiness.
* Apply Lean manufacturing principles to design and implement optimized future-state value streams that support productivity, flow, and long-term operational efficiency.
* Drive project execution through disciplined progress tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and escalation as required.
* Prepare and present decision-ready status updates, progress reports, and escalation materials to senior and executive leadership.
* Support workforce readiness by coordinating inputs to training strategies and implementation plans for new manufacturing departments and technologies.
* Act as a key change agent, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and adoption of new systems and processes across cultures and time zones.
* Promote a strong compliance, safety, and quality culture in alignment with the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
* Perform special projects as assigned to support strategic manufacturing objectives.
** Basic Requirements:
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline* “Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. ** Preferred:
*** Extensive professional experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, preferably within an international or multi-site manufacturing context.
* Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes with demonstrated interest in digital workflows, data-driven manufacturing, and modern production systems.
* Strong project management capability, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence, align, and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
* Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support project execution.
* Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite; experience with project planning or tracking tools
* German language skills
* Project management professional (PMP) certification
* Experience supporting manufacturing expansions, facility launches, or major capital investment projects.
* Exposure to Lean manufacturing or value stream design methodologies.
* Experience working within global manufacturing networks.
