What is the Opportunity?Aecon is a North American construction and infrastructure development company with global experience – transforming vision into reality. Our nuclear sector plays an important role in extending the life of existing nuclear stations and executing the next generation of nuclear new builds leveraging a similar fleet execution strategy. From our work delivering the two largest refurbishment projects (Savannah River nuclear station and North Anna Power Station) in North America to deploying the first grid‑scale SMR in the western world, we continue moving forward with a strategic focus on decarbonizing energy systems in support of a net zero future.
Quality Control Inspector/Supervisor is responsible for examining products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications within the Aecon program. This position will report through the quality program.
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
What You’ll Do Here:Perform inspection on pressure boundary and non‑pressure boundary components, assemblies, and structural fabrications in accordance with the applicable code of construction and/or customer specifications. Such inspections shall include, but not be limited to:
- Dimensional inspections
- Review of Material Test Reports
- Receiving inspection
- Weld Visual inspection
- Positive material identification
- Material thickness verification or “D” Meter.
- Pressure Test Inspection
- Follow and maintain Inspection and Test Plans or Travelers.
- Perform internal weld monitoring as required.
- Perform Source Inspections, In‑Process Inspections, and Final Inspections
- Complete all associated documentation:
Quality Control reports, sign‑off on drawings, create as‑built drawings, etc. - Calibration of measuring and test equipment.
