Position: ES&H Representative / Safety Professional

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an ES&H Representative / Safety Professional opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

ES&H Representative / Safety Professional Duties
  • Provides conventional technical assistance to field operations on low to moderate risk scopes of work to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local and/or company safety and health regulations.
  • Under general guidance, apply principles gained through formal education and/or significant work experience.
  • Analyzes workplace activities and potential hazards to support initiatives within assigned facility(s) through review of work packages, walk-downs, and observations.
  • Usually functions as a generalist responsible for multiple Safety & Health (S&H) facets within assigned facility(s).
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public.
Skills/Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or related field required; minimum three (3) years of field experience (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Expertise in industrial and construction safety with ability to apply technical knowledge in field operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations with demonstrated ability to interpret and enforce requirements in the field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Safety & Health standards, principles, and best practices.
  • Experience operating effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Ability to work flexible and on-call schedules as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective internal and external working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification and/or a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • Working knowledge of SRNS processes and procedures.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
