Aboutthe role
The Senior P6 Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 for the project at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. This role is essential in supporting Earned Value Management (EVM), critical path analysis, schedule risk assessment, and DOE client reporting in accordance with contract requirements and DOE EVMS guidelines. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of advanced Primavera P6 scheduling experience on DOE, nuclear, federal government, or large-scale heavy industrial projects.
Primaryresponsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update fully resource-loaded, logic-driven Primavera P6 Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) that accurately reflect current project scope, baseline, and performance status.
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule float management, and schedule compression analysis; identify schedule risks, opportunities, and potential impacts, and communicate findings to the Project Controls Manager and project leadership.
- Support Earned Value Management by maintaining alignment between the schedule and the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), calculating earned value (EV), and preparing schedule performance indices (SPI) and variance analyses.
- Develop and maintain schedule basis documentation, activity dictionaries, and coding structures in accordance with DOE EVMS guidelines and contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) requirements.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation tools, such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Oracle Crystal Ball, or equivalent software, to evaluate schedule confidence levels and support contingency planning.
- Prepare schedule status reports, look-ahead schedules, milestone reports, and recovery schedule analyses for project leadership and DOE client reporting.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, work control, and operations personnel to gather status updates, validate logic, and maintain schedule accuracy and integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of project controls and program management objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of advanced Primavera P6 scheduling experience on DOE, nuclear, federal government, or large-scale heavy industrial projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in resource-loaded schedule development, Critical Path Method (CPM), and EVMS-compliant scheduling practices.
- Experience with schedule risk analysis tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Oracle Crystal Ball, or similar applications.
- Strong knowledge of DOE contract scheduling requirements, WBS structures, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- More than 6 years of relevant experience.
- Direct Savannah River Site or DOE major facility scheduling experience.
- Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification through AACE International.
