Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to mechanical, piping and welding, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards;
- Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans. Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non
- Conformance reports as required; - Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment;
- Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities;
- Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results;
- Establish priorities which support construction/operation's needs;
- Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments;
- Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individuals' commitment to site policies;
- Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities;
- Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities;
- Review and approve subcontractors' quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures;
- Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards;
- Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed;
- Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks; and
- Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with at least 8 years (8-10 years preferred) of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; an associate's degree and at least 10 years (10-12 years preferred) of practical experience; or a high school diploma and at least 12 years (12-16 years preferred) of practical experience would be considered equivalent.
