2D Electrical Designer

Provide 2D Designer support services to assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Services include engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents in the following areas:

Electrical

• Equipment layout
• Grounding
• Cable tray
• Conduit
• Lighting systems
• Schematics and wiring diagrams
• Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, OSHA)

Plant Design

• Mechanical systems (piping, material handling, equipment, HVAC components)
• Equipment, piping, and HVAC layout based on upper-tier documents
• Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards (ASME B31.3, NFPA 101, ASME N509/510, B16)

Additional Notes:

• Required discipline experience will be specified in requests for resumes.
• Occasional travel offsite to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other engineering organizations may be required.
• Design services must comply with SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Degree required
• Formal training beyond High School in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting preferred

Experience / Skills

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Designer in the specified discipline
• Proficiency in 2D Micro Station CADD required
• Must be capable of performing system walkdowns in the field

Work Hours

• Standard 40-hour work week
• Schedules may include:
• 5/8s → 8 hours/day, 5 days per week
• 4/10s → 10 hours/day, 4 days per week
• 9/80s → 9 hours/day (5 days on Week A, 4 days on Week
  
  B)
• Excludes SRR holidays
• Each workday includes a 30-minute lunch

Other Requirements

Business Tools – understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
