- Engineering headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia.
SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte.
This *** | Exempt position currently best aligns with the Instrumentation and Control Engineer DS 111 Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive "Jugaad" and dialogue targeting mission success. Pro Sidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808.
Services anticipated includes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioactive waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE).
- Instrumentation and Control Engineer
- Engineering Candidates shall work to support requirements for 0 and The I&C Engineer is a Professional Grade position. - Provide support engineering services to assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Engineering support services include engineering analysis, walk downs, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: P&IDs Control Logics;
Loop Diagrams;
Instrument Indices;
Setpoint Lists;
Instrument and Control Valve Specifications; DCS and PLC Design;
Instrument Location and Installation Design;
Panel Layouts; and Vendor Document Review. - Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations.
- Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.
The Instrumentation and Control Engineer
- Engineering shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.
The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
requisite work experience and technical skills to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of the I&C Engineers working and performing tasks in the Energy Industry (Oil and Gas / Power and Utilities / Nuclear Energy) BS Degree in one of the following disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, I&C Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the above disciplines. Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry. Candidate must demonstrate design experience with PLCs and distributed control systems. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Micro Station Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field. A 40 hour work week schedule is anticipated for this position. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week
B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch. Standard Facilities Access required but a security clearance is not currently required for this position

Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
