Component Specialists
Provide a Component Specialist who takes proactive and effective measures to ensure spare equipment/components are available to support plant operations. Individual should process knowledge for all components, to include but not limited to valves, pumps, motors, instrumentation, and electrical.
Identify maintenance strategy, i.e. repair vs. replace.
Identify spare parts/spare equipment required to maintain CLIs.
Provide justification for parts identified. Reference materials include vendor print files, technical baseline documents, system files, vendor product information and recommendations, maintenance history information, system health reports, standard industry practices, and engineering judgment.
Identify procurement lead times
Identify parts that are obsolete or soon to be. Develop handling strategy for each obsolete part.
Determine Suggested Reorder Point (minimum) and Suggested Max
Identify Manufacturer Part Number
Ensure adequacy of existing spare parts to equipment relationships.
Interfacing and communicating effectively with Work Control Personnel, Engineers, Inventory Analysts, buyers, vendors to obtain the necessary technical and quality information.
Required
Qualification:
U.S. Citizen / Ability to obtain DOE site access.
Education:
High school diploma, AAS degree or B.S. degree in ** (specified discipline) engineering or related physical science determined by applicable experience.
** Specific Discipline = (Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Instruments and Controls) as determined by the requestor.
Experience:
- One (1) year experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or nuclear plant operations with a B.S. degree in engineering or related physical science; OR
- Two (2) years experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or nuclear plant operations with an AAS. degree in engineering or related physical science; OR
- Five (5) years experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or nuclear plant operations and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
- Has knowledge of component design parameters, design characteristics and margins, equipment manufacturing capabilities, component operations and maintenance, and equipment reliability
- Uses operating experience to determine spare equipment/component needs
- Skilled at troubleshooting component problems
- Subject matter expert (SME) with good problem solving skills
- Develop or possess working knowledge of several data bases and computer programs to include File Maker Pro, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word, Asset Suits, SMART Plant and other WEB based data bases.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled, SRR utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week
B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has an unpaid 30-minute lunch. Area Security Access; A security clearance is not required
