Civil Structural Engineer
Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, over pressure, and other accident conditions;
preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents. Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations. Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.
Education:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience /
Skills:
Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years' experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Micro Station Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week
B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access: A security clearance is not required.
