Job Title
Senior Work Control Planner
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in a non‑technical discipline and at least 4‑5 years of practical experience in work control, materials management, E&I / mechanical maintenance, or related areas.
- Associate's degree in a technical or mechanical area and at least 8 years of practical experience.
- High school diploma and at least 10‑12 years of practical experience.
- Understanding and interpreting electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Using a computerized work management system to track work planning activities.
- Coordinating team work, setting goals, and prioritizing tasks.
- Knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations, and engineering and quality assurance standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of site work control procedures, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, and material control for maintenance and operations.
- Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, and lockout‑tagout procedures.
- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
- Previous SRS or DOE facility experience.
- Previous SRS or DOE facility work planner experience within the last three (3) years.

- Technical Acceptability: 80%
1 year, with up to two 1‑year option periods at the discretion of the hiring manager. Yearly options automatically include a 3.5% escalation.
Estimated Hours Per Year2080 standard hours, 200 overtime hours.
Anticipated Work ScheduleMon‑Thurs 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Projects SupportedDeactivation
LocationOnsite. Local candidates or candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
Duties- Develop and review large and complex work packages, including step‑by‑step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements.
- Prepare, review, and issue large and/or complex equipment and/or system modification work packages.
- Interpret engineering, design, technical, and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
- Conduct physical walkdowns to identify hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies.
- Provide technical review for quality and consistency; guide other work control personnel.
- Analyze time and material requirements.
- Prepare and issue corrective maintenance work packages and preventive maintenance records.
- Coordinate with site organizations on problems and concerns related to work control.
- Offer technical advice on maintenance and work control to facility management or work control personnel.
A 40‑hour work week is scheduled. Work schedules may include 5/8, 4/10, or 9/80 arrangements. Each workday includes a 30‑minute lunch. Overtime may be required at the manager’s discretion.
Required Qualifications- Must meet at least one of the education and experience requirements listed above.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical documents and using a computerized work management system.
- Strong team coordination, goal setting, and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of DOE and related regulations, engineering and quality assurance standards, and work control procedures.
- Understanding of radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control, and safety practices.
- Ability to identify work hazards, safety practices, and lockout‑tagout points.
Candidate must obtain and maintain a DOE “L” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required but will be required after award based on specific work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
- Previous SRS or DOE facility experience.
- Previous SRS or DOE facility work planner experience within the last three (3) years.
- Area Security Access:
Clearance “L” required. - Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA.
