Position:
Mechanical Engineer
Generate complete design documentation packages and be responsible for design release control. Design components and subsystems for high‑output diesel and gas engines used in both mobile and stationary applications.
Key Accountabilities- Develop and evaluate engineering designs (including subsystems) following industry and corporate standards.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models according to design standards or specifications.
- Develop detailed design drawings with appropriate application of standards, norms, and GD&T specifications.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in designs.
- Proficiently use PLM software (Windchill).
- Lead overall communication, coordination, and consultation with production, quality, vendors, and customers.
- Develop complex assembly drawings for new product BOM creation.
- Manage design change requests from initiation to implementation.
- Implement improvement measures for manufacturing based on supplier, production, or customer feedback.
- Determine validation/inspection plan for new or revised components.
- Conduct inspection and/or validation of first‑article components using precision tools, or coordinate third‑party involvement.
- Create post‑inspection report for part evaluation.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship. Sponsorship or visa transfer is not available at this time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or equivalent plus 3 years of design experience, or 7 years of development, design, or test engineering experience for battery, fuel cell, or electrolyzer products.
- Experience with 3D CAD involving cast part design.
- Strong knowledge of drafting principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering processes and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret its effect on component design.
- Experience with PLM software such as Windchill.
- Excellent analytical ability where problems may be unusual or difficult.
