Pro Sidian Seeks a 2D Plant Designer
- Engineering (Time and Materials | Non-Exempt) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.
This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients and Pro Sidian Team Members work as part of an Engagement Team Cadre to fulfill T&M
- Time and Materials requirements.
Provide 2D Designer support services to assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Designer support services include engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents in the following areas:
Electrical
- Equipment layout
- Grounding
- Cable tray
- Conduit
- Lighting systems
- Schematics and wiring diagrams
- Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA
Plant Design
- Mechanical systems including piping, material handling, equipment and HVAC components
- Equipment layout, piping layout and HVAC layout based on upper tier documents
- Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for plant design such as ASME B31.3, NFPA 101, ASME N509/510 and B16
The required discipline experience will be identified in the request for resumes. Individuals at times will be required to travel off-site to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other Engineering organizations. Design services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

QualificationsThe 2D Plant Designer
- Engineering shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.
All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
Education:
- High School Degree is required. Formal training beyond High School in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
Experience /Skills:
- The candidate must demonstrate eight (8) years of experience as a Designer in the specified discipline. Experience in 2D Microstation CADD is required. The candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of 2d Design.
- Basic two-dimensional design forms the foundation of graphic design and visual communication.
- By applying basic mark-making. or drawing concepts such as lines and shapes to an understanding. of how to define and make use of the picture plane and apply.
Work Hours:
- A 40-hour workweek is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week
B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. - Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
- A security clearance is not required.
- All Pro Sidian staff must be determined eligible for a "Facility Access Authorization" (also referred to as an "Employment Authorization") by the USG's designated Security Office.
- Standard Facilities Access required and security clearance may be required for this position

Travel
- Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.
- Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, as allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Work Location: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
