Pro Sidian seeks an Electrical Engineer
- Engineering to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRMC]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. This position is located in the Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina Area.
Electrical Engineer
- Engineering (DS109) candidates shall work to support requirements for TBC (Engineering Services) and statement of work (SOW) while maintaining required qualifications Nuclear & Environmental Management Sector. Pro Sidian team members work as part of the Electrical Engineer Engagement Team Cadre to provide professional electrical engineering services to assigned electrical engineering teams.
Electrical engineers have duties and responsibilities that focus on safety, sustainable devices, and quality assurance. They design, develop and maintain electrical systems and parts for consumer and business electronics. Electrical engineers support electrical work in the manufacturing, transport, and construction industries. Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, or power generation equipment.
This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients (For Present / Future Requirements), and Pro Sidian team members work as part of an Engagement Team Cadre to fulfill electrical engineering requirements. An electrical engineer, or facilities electrical engineer, designs, builds, and tests various mechanical devices, like industrial machines, transportation systems, and robotics equipment. In addition, electrical engineers perform many electrical/process, scientific and technical tasks related to nuclear, energy, and environmental management sector products/services/deliverables.
Essential responsibilities include providing electrical engineering services using SRR processes and procedures, acting as a lead on less complex tasks, attending company meetings, conducting site visits, analyzing electrical engineering problems, proposing solutions and alternatives, and providing recommendations. Other duties include coordinating and working closely with other electrical engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements, creating product documentation and records, developing, maintaining and producing technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications, and interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication.
Qualifications for electrical engineer include a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and current registration as a professional engineer in electrical engineering. A master's degree or professional electrical engineering licensure is preferred. Education typically includes theoretical coursework, hands-on projects, and training with various computer programming programs, power systems, and technically oriented material subjects, like hydraulics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Electrical Engineering and Technology (ABET) and experience working under the supervision of a licensed electrical engineering.
Other requirements include excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and other electrical engineering concepts, excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus, and physics, and candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NEC code requirements.
