- Labor Hour Subcontract located Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina supporting a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRMC]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Seeking Civil Structural Engineer candidates DS107. This as a Labor Hour Subcontract or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position and Pro Sidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time Pro Sidian employed W-2 Position.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide services and support as a Civil Structural Engineer (DS107) at Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Civil Structural Engineer
- Engineering (DS107)

Duties:

• Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include:
• Analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs.
• Design of concrete structures.
• Design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber, and composite structures.
• Foundation and anchorage design.
• Structural analysis for impact, over pressure, and other accident conditions.
• Preparation of CSI specifications.
• Review of vendor documents.
• Travel off-site may be required to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other engineering organizations.
• Engineering services will use SRR processes and procedures, with programmatic guidance provided by SRR.

Desired Qualifications For Civil Structural Engineer

Required Qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications

Experience/

Skills:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
• Working knowledge of STAAD.
• Familiarity with national codes and standards, such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Preferred experience in 2D Micro Station CAD software.
• Ability to walk down systems in the field.

Skills Required

Work Hours:

• A 40-hour work week is scheduled.
• Possible schedules include:
• 5/8s: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.
• 4/10s: 10 hours/day, 4 days/week.
• 9/80s: 9 hours/day, alternating 5-day and 4-day weeks.
• 30-minute lunch breaks are included in the workday.
• Excludes SRR holidays.
