Position Overview
Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking an Advisory Project Engineer to support the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.
Final date to receive applications: 07/08/26 (by Noon ET).
Responsibilities- Initiate technical programs and recommend solutions based on analysis of customer needs and technology trends.
- Use broad-based or specialized technical experience to resolve complex problems and coordinate with internal and external resources.
- Incorporate advanced technical practices, complex requirements, and oversight into problem‑solving and program planning.
- Lead solution development for complex problems and influence technical direction across disciplines.
- Recommend research programs and assist in planning for the group.
- Conceive programs for self and the department, and prioritize needs relative to other technical requirements at SRNS.
- Sponsor new ideas and prepare plans including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for major technical tasks.
- Develop schedules, monitor progress, review expenditures, and ensure quality of work, including research, development, testing, and QA.
- Communicate results verbally and in manuscript form, reporting regularly to oversight groups and professional societies.
- Mentor less senior professionals in communication skills and technical knowledge transfer.
- Maintain technical credibility through reports, presentations, and engagement in national technical organizations.
- Integrate and manage engineering activities, provide project management tools, and support future projects.
- Manage project tasks and deliver results within cost and schedule constraints.
- Typically a PhD and ~15 years, an MS and ~17 years, or a BS and ~21 years of experience.
- Overall engineering and design direction, leadership, and management for assigned projects.
- Integration of engineering resources, establishment of design criteria, resource forecasts, schedules, and tools.
- Administrative guidance to leads and managers.
- Overall management, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks and projects.
- Registered PE licensure in any state.
- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years.
Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance (an active DOE clearance is not initially required).
