Job Description Title
Senior Project Engineer
Key Accountabilities- Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale manufacturing expansion initiatives, including various new machining methods at the Aiken site.
- Serve as the primary project lead coordinating cross‑functional work streams across Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, Controlling, HR, IT, and external partners.
- Define project scope, objectives, schedules, and governance structures in alignment with global manufacturing standards, timelines, and budgetary targets.
- Deploy established manufacturing processes and standards from global reference sites while enabling adaptation and innovation to support local production requirements.
- Coordinate facility planning, building modifications, equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover to operations.
- Plan, lead, and facilitate technical workshops and alignment sessions with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure project milestones, deliverables, and operational readiness.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles to design and implement optimized future‑state value streams that support productivity, flow, and long‑term operational efficiency.
- Drive project execution through disciplined progress tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and escalation as required.
- Prepare and present decision‑ready status updates, progress reports, and escalation materials to senior and executive leadership.
- Support workforce readiness by coordinating inputs to training strategies and implementation plans for new manufacturing departments and technologies.
- Act as a key change agent, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and adoption of new systems and processes across cultures and time zones.
- Promote a strong compliance, safety, and quality culture in alignment with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as assigned to support strategic manufacturing objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- Extensive professional experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional projects, preferably within an international or multi‑site manufacturing context.
- Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes with demonstrated interest in digital workflows, data‑driven manufacturing, and modern production systems.
- Strong project management capability, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence, align, and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support project execution.
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite; experience with project planning or tracking tools.
- German language skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience supporting manufacturing expansions, facility launches, or major capital investment projects.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing or value stream design methodologies.
- Experience working within global manufacturing networks.
