OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a college Process/Chemical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 at our Aiken, SC office with our Nuclear Services and Technology group.

Merrick’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands‑on experience for students. Designed as a shorter‑term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they’re learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day‑to‑day life at an employee‑owned company.

The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Process/Chemical engineering by working on actual projects for our clients.our clients.

The summer internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in a variety of process engineering items including P&, process simulation and engineering calculations.

The intern will collaborate with other disciplines, interface with engineers, designers, and clients, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently and in a team environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program.
  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles and calculations are required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Being familiar with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to PFD and P&.
  • Local candidates strongly preferred.
