Job Summary
Counselor & AOD Educator (Mental Health Professional III), Salary: $57,779 - $72,224 per year, USCA Counseling Center
Full-time Counselor. Employee is responsible for providing counseling and outreach programming for students with personal and academic difficulties. Counselor will, in conjunction with other areas, coordinate initiatives focusing on alcohol and other drug (AOD) education. Counselor will also be responsible for providing AOD counseling/education with individuals and groups as needed. All services are provided in an effort to support USCA students in their academic achievement and personal development.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to handle stressful situations with sound judgement. Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students maintaining a positive attitude. Must maintain confidentiality of student files and information. Must have good organizational skills. Excellent Communication skills required, including clinical note keeping. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must be comfortable with presenting to large groups.
Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population required. Must be willing to work some evenings and some partial weekend days.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials:
Licensed in the state of South Carolina or able to obtain license within 6 months of hire. Preferred:
Master's degree in counseling, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or social work, with a minimum of two years of mental health counseling. AOD counseling experience preferred. Experience…
