JOB DESCRIPTION Purpose
The Revenue Cycle Manager leads and supports the billing team in collaboration with billing managers, the CEO, and COO. This role ensures efficient revenue cycle operations, regulatory compliance, accurate reimbursement, and high-quality customer service.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Revenue Cycle Manager oversees all aspects of the revenue cycle for a multi‑specialty, multi‑location practice. This includes billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes. The role supports the organization’s financial health by improving workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maximizing revenue while maintaining patient access to care.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the full revenue cycle from scheduling through payment.
- Supervise billing and coding staff and ensure proper training and performance.
- Conduct audits to ensure billing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Ensure providers complete and sign documentation according to policy.
- Coordinate external coding audits and implement corrective actions.
- Address escalated patient billing concerns and ensure excellent customer service.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as denial rates, collections, and days in A/R.
- Review and update the fee schedule annually.
- Provide training to staff on revenue cycle processes and best practices.
- Assist the CEO with financial reports, audits, and cost reporting.
- Promote collaboration across departments to improve revenue cycle performance.
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required;
Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Professional coding certification preferred.
- Experience with Medicaid, Tricare, and commercial insurance billing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of medical coding, billing, collections, and payer guidelines.
- Understanding of CPT and ICD‑10 coding requirements.
- Experience with EHR and billing systems.
- Ability to analyze revenue cycle metrics and implement process improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapy billing is a plus.
