About the RoleThe Senior BI Developer operates at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, transforming curated warehouse data into scalable, governed, and high-performance analytical assets. The ideal candidate brings deep SQL and data modeling expertise, strong systems thinking, and the ability to translate complex business logic into maintainable, scalable analytics solutions. Success in this role requires clear communication, disciplined metric governance, and a focus on building efficient, reliable data processes that perform under seasonal scale.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build and maintain scalable dimensional data models to support core KPI reporting and compliance monitoring.
- Develop and manage curated data marts from engineered warehouse datasets, translating business logic into maintainable, production‑grade SQL transformations.
- Develop and maintain the BI semantic layer, including governed metric definitions, reusable KPIs, and standardized calculations aligned with the business.
- Build and maintain high‑performance dashboards and reporting assets in BI tools (e.g., Power BI) with appropriate access controls for sensitive data.
- Implement and maintain data validation checks, reconciliation logic, and anomaly detection across curated models.
- Monitor BI workload performance and proactively refactor inefficient models to reduce compute consumption and latency.
- Document transformation logic, metric definitions, and model dependencies to ensure maintainability and transparency.
- Partner with Senior Data Engineer to extend and optimize transformation frameworks.
- Maintain data governance standards across enterprise data warehouse systems, data assets, and business segments.
- Collaborate across departments to support analysis and reporting needs.

Results You’ll Drive
- Convert >70% of recurring ad hoc analysis requests into reusable data models.
- Implement incremental modeling strategies thereby reducing full‑refresh dependencies by >50%.
- Align all BI development with established, centralized metric definitions for core KPIs.
- Reduce metric inconsistency disputes by >50% through governed semantic modeling.
- Reduction in recurring data quality incidents by 50%.
- Stable automated reporting and refresh processes with minimal disruption.
Must‑Have Skills & Experience
Education & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 4-7 years of experience in BI Development, Analytics Engineering, or SQL‑heavy data roles.
- 2+ years of experience in Fin Tech, Operations, or Supply Chain data environments (highly preferred).
- Experience with cloud data tools and architecture;
Snowflake preferred. - Intermediate to expert‑level skills in modeling strategies (dimensional, relational, semi‑structured formats like JSON, XML).
- Experience with dbt or transformation frameworks.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Experience in communication protocol design; RESTful API preferred.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- This is a hybrid role based in Augusta, Ga or Charlotte, NC
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal physical demands.
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
