Job Description

Senior IT Project Manager – Subject Matter Expert on SRNL cybersecurity operations processes. Focus on cybersecurity-related projects and coordinate closely with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Cyber Manager to ensure alignment with SRNL cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and accreditation requirements. Manage project timelines, scope, and budget while maintaining strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking and exemplary communication.
  • Collaborate with the ISSO and Cyber Manager to identify, track, and incorporate cybersecurity requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet cybersecurity accreditation requirements and align with SRNL standards.
  • Exhibit collaboration, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, executive presence, growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, and results focus.
  • Initiate and plan projects, review scope, create schedules, and coordinate resources to enable timely delivery.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, facilitate kickoff meetings, provide status updates, and sustain client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project execution by managing timelines, resources, and deliverables, and by accurately tracking progress.
  • Identify and manage risks and scope changes, ensuring documentation and communication to stakeholders.
  • Conduct project closeouts, complete deliverables, hold final meetings, and provide reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA with 10–12 years of project management, cybersecurity operations, or related technical fields, including leading projects in a complex organization.
  • US citizenship required to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Strong leadership, good judgment, and the ability to interface effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex issues.
  • Collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across functions while building trusted relationships and influencing others.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically, identify creative solutions, and resolve conflicts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated DOE environment.
  • Experience working with ISSOs, cybersecurity managers, or compliance teams.
  • Hands‑on experience conducting or supporting cybersecurity assessments for system accreditations (e.g., NIST RMF, FISMA).
  • Familiarity with federal cyber policies.
  • Track record of leading through influence, building long‑term relationships, establishing vision, roadmaps, budgets, priorities, and objectives.
  • PMP certification.
  • ITIL certification.
