Supervisor, Maintenance​/Cleaning, Facility Maintenance

Job Position Description

Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all staff stays on task and complete all assignments to Service Master standards. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of cleaning principles and team management abilities.

• Training cleaners on Service Master’s standards, products, processes and procedures
• Oversee staff performance and ensure all assignments are completed in accordance to set task schedule
• Train cleaners on task schedules specific to individual accounts
• Perform inspections and give constructive performance feedback to staff members
• Assign shifts and make necessary adjustments in case of call‑off or no‑shows
• Respond to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner
• Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
• Use proper PPE where required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required
• 1–2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper is a plus but not required
• Will provide on‑the‑job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus
• Must be flexible, work in a fast‑paced and multitasked environment
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude, uniform, dependability and punctuality
• Show respect and understanding for co‑workers and customers
• Must be able to communicate in English; bilingual is a plus

• Constant standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head and forward; must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
