Press Brake Technician

Reports to:

Business Unit Leader of Specified Location

Schedule:

Monday – Thursday 4:00am – 2:30pm. Extended hours may be required to support business needs

Summary of position:
Operation of brake presses, operation of forklifts, lead part development and prototyping for new products, the ability to interpret complex technical drawings/blueprints and developing creative tooling and setup processes to manufacture parts to required specifications. The employee will also be responsible for performing quality checks and ensuring that parts meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality. Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings/blueprints

Develop press brake tooling setups and optimal bending sequences

Lead part development and prototyping efforts

Assist in creating work instructions for production staff

Read and understand work instructions

Load and unload parts

Change different types of punches & dies

Wear appropriate PPE.

Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis

Perform product quality checks in accordance with work instructions.

Package parts per specifications

Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts

Read and understand measurement devices

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

Must be able to use small hand tools, such as grinders, drills and gages

Must be able to read blueprints, calipers & micrometers

Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.

Forklift experience is a plus

Physical environment/work conditions:
The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.

Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information):
This position works in a production environment. The position will report directly to the Production supervisor and will have daily interaction with other team members.
