Job Title

Plant 78 Twisting | Inspector Operator Shift C

Position Overview Position Objective

To provide audits and testing within the Twisting Department; to

Ensure first quality product.

Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
  • Comply with Procedures found in SMS manual.
  • Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
  • Comply with corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
  • Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Be in pre-shift meeting area ten (10) minutes before your scheduled shift for shift meeting.
  • Inspect packages for defects.
  • Doff twisted packages.
  • Perform Spindle Speed Strobe Check.
  • Comply with troubleshooting checklist for positional breakouts per the procedure.
  • Perform pack out procedure for non-heatset yarn, per Work Instructions.
  • Perform Twist Checks.
  • Perform Machine Audits.
  • Adhere to all Housekeeping assignments.
  • Perform yarn changes as needed per Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all patrols are 1st Quality patrols.
  • Perform Yarn inspection procedure to packages placed at the Quality Checker desk.
  • Label creel yarn buggies as needed for a changeover.
  • Tail Build, Thread Path and Buggy Audits.
  • Inspect the twisted packages on the nonconformance buggy that come from Heatset.
  • Identify non-conforming Extrusion packages and return to Extrusion each shift.
  • Report any mechanical problems by flagging the position.
  • Follow reclaim prevention procedures.
  • Follow identification procedures established.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Non-Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
  • Assist other Twisting personnel as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for eight (8) to twelve (12) hours.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry and reach occasionally.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Actively participate in the PRIDE and FIBER Processes.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Plant 78 is a tobacco‑free facility.
  • Training Requirements:
  • Must complete the orientation training session.
  • Must complete job requirements training as defined in the Training Program Manual.
  • Must complete PRIDE Training.
  • Must complete FIBER Training
  • Must complete Management System Training.
  • Must complete MSDS/Chemical Right To Know Training.
  • Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements:
  • Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and earplugs.
  • Responsible for materials and supplies issued.
  • Responsible for equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Follow all applicable environmental efforts and procedures for proper disposal of used materials.
  • Safety & Security Requirements:
  • Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
  • Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Must report all accidents, no matter how slight, to supervision immediately.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment at all times while in the designated areas.
  • Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.
  • Work Shift

    12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
