Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience across various specialties and an active SC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- 13-week contract at a hospital-based Operating Room
- Works across various OR specialties
- Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts per day, with days varying based on departmental need
- Shift hours are 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call requirement includes one weekday call per week and one call weekend per month
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating for operative procedures and managing department admissions to the operative suite
- Prepares the OR for the patient and surgical procedure, assembling equipment and supplies and ensuring everything is functional and available
- Adheres to aseptic technique standards and intraoperative patient care planning in coordination with the surgical team
- Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, and members of the operating team
- CPI certification is mandated for this position
- Active SC or compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a US hospital across various specialties
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- BSN is highly desired
- US Social Security Number required
- Date of birth required for consideration
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
