Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Principal Quality Control Engineer (Electrical / I&C Inspector) position in Aiken, SC
.
Work Schedule: 4 - 10s + OT
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Q Clearance required
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:
- Prior experience working under an ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program
. - Prior Department of Energy (DOE) project experience.
- Required certifications applicable to assigned quality control responsibilities, or the ability to maintain required certifications and training under the project quality program.
Applications lacking the required ASME NQA-1 experience or DOE project experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities and Duties- Supervise and direct Quality Control Engineers performing inspections and surveillance activities in support of project work and maintenance operations.
- Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems in accordance with design output documents, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Perform field inspections in accordance with approved Quality Control Inspection Plans.
- Document inspection results and maintain inspection records.
- Generate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
- Review product and process compliance against drawings, specifications, procedures, and other project requirements.
- Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel in implementing quality requirements.
- Establish inspection priorities to support construction and operational needs.
- Resolve complex quality issues by coordinating with internal and external organizations.
- Prepare comprehensive status reports related to construction quality activities.
- Review and approve subcontractor quality procedures and monitor compliance.
- Coordinate quality activities with construction and other project departments to ensure compliance with site specifications and standards.
- Develop quality procedures supporting inspection, testing, and surveillance activities.
- Deliver quality-related training programs and ensure personnel qualifications are maintained.
- Prepare performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
- Promote a work environment focused on safety, quality, communication, teamwork, trust, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in contract discussions related to quality requirements and activities.
- Prior work experience operating under an ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program
. - Prior Department of Energy (DOE) project experience.
- Certification in applicable areas of responsibility with ongoing programmatic training as required by the project quality program.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading quality personnel and inspection activities.
- Ability to foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, teamwork, communication, and customer satisfaction.
- Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical requirements for compliance.
- Ability to prepare and review quality procedures, inspection plans, reports, and non-conformance documentation.
- Practical field experience in electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) quality control within the last 16 months.
- Extensive experience performing construction inspections and surveillance activities.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience coordinating quality activities across multiple organizations and subcontractors.
- Experience supporting nuclear, government, or highly regulated industrial projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8–10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas;
OR - Associate's degree and 10–12 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas;
OR - High school diploma and 12–16 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas.
