We are seeking a Nuclear Quality Specialist/ Engineer to join our team at the Savannah River Site (SRS). This role reports directly to the Nuclear Quality Manager and is responsible for day‑to‑day execution, field monitoring, and administrative support of the Nuclear Quality Management System (QMS). The successful candidate will perform hands‑on inspections, assist with audits, and ensure field operations strictly align with NQA-1 and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Execute receipt inspections, field inspections, and operational testing to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Identify, document, and track non‑conformance (NCRs) and corrective actions (CAPA) through closure.
- Assist the Nuclear Quality Manager during internal and external audits by gathering evidence, escorting auditors, and tracking findings.
- Review and draft updates for local Quality Procedures to align with NQA-1-2019 and client demands.
- Administer and document indoctrination training, ensuring all employee qualification records are accurately retained.
- Compile quality metrics, inspection logs, and performance data to build content for official Management Reviews.
- Immediately elevate Conditions Adverse to Quality (CAQ) and Significant Conditions Adverse to Quality (SCAQ) to the Nuclear Quality Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of Quality‑related experience, with at least 2 years inside a nuclear environment (DOE or DOD facilities highly preferred).
- Functional understanding of ASME NQA-1:2019 requirements and DOE Order 414.1D.
- Active certification as an NQA-1 Auditor/Lead Auditor, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or ASNT Level II/III is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with ISO‑17025 laboratory calibration standards is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must pass a pre‑employment background screening.
- Must participate in pre‑employment and random drug screening programs.
