Working Pattern:
Full Time – Four ten‑hour days during a Monday‑to‑Thursday work week, with overtime as required.
- Plan, execute, and oversee quality control procedures in the engine testing area for diesel engines (performance, durability, emissions, etc.).
- Lead and coordinate product and part qualifications, including defining quality criteria, validating new designs, and ensuring successful integration into the engine platform.
- Review and approve test protocols, procedures, and data collection methods to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
- Analyze test results to identify trends, deviations, or potential quality issues and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with the testing team to troubleshoot test stand issues, instrumentation faults, or deviations in engine performance.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams to qualify new or modified components through structured validation and testing plans.
- Develop and implement statistical quality control methods (SPC, Cpk, GR&R, etc.) to monitor engine test outcomes and process capability.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
- Lead root cause analysis and 8D reporting for test‑related quality issues.
- Generate detailed test and quality reports for internal reviews and customer documentation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in quality control or testing within a diesel engine manufacturing environment.
- Authority to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship. This position is not a sponsor of employment visas.
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, engine testing protocols, test bench operation, and emissions testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, EPA) and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and quality software (Minitab, SAP-QM, LabVIEW, Influx, AVL tools, etc.).
- Experience with failure‑mode analysis, 8D problem solving, FMEA, and control‑plan creation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a structured approach in high‑pressure environments.
Employees will frequently work on computers inside and outside the workplace, occasionally be exposed to wet conditions, and experience moderate noise levels. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision with ability to focus and see color. Inspection of MTU America engine products under a fluorescent black light may be required.
