Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Lead QC Engineer – Electrical opportunity to support the Savannah River Site
.

++Lead QC Engineer – Electrical++-

The Lead QC Engineer-Electrical will support a multi-year construction project involving significant civil and mechanical construction, including grading, storm drainage, demolition, earthwork, ductbanks, service water, process piping, electrical systems, and associated site infrastructure.

Duties:
  • Perform field QC inspections for electrical construction, underground systems, testing, and turnover.
  • Verify electrical work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, QMS, ASME NQA-1, DOE Order 414.1D, and project requirements.
  • Inspect conduit, cable tray, raceways, ductbank interfaces, grounding, cables, equipment, panels, terminations, and supports.
  • Verify electrical materials and equipment are approved, identified, stored, and installed per requirements.
  • Inspect conduit routing, supports, penetrations, separation, grounding, and underground interfaces.
  • Verify cable installation, routing, identification, segregation, pulling, and terminations.
  • Verify equipment installation, alignment, grounding, identification, and connections.
  • Witness and verify electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, grounding, and cable testing.
  • Review drawings, one-lines, schematics, specifications, work packages, ITPs, and test documentation.
  • Verify required inspections, hold/witness points, and testing are completed before energization or concealment.
  • Document inspections and maintain accurate, traceable, and auditable quality records.
  • Identify and document nonconforming work, CAQs, and other quality issues.
  • Support NCRs, corrective actions, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Support electrical walkdowns, punch lists, turnover, energization readiness, surveillances, and audits.
  • Coordinate inspections with Construction, Engineering, Testing, Commissioning, subcontractors, and Quality personnel.
  • Escalate significant quality concerns and SCAQs per project procedures.
  • For lead-level assignments: Coordinate QC activities, prioritize inspections, provide technical direction, and review inspection/test documentation.
Skills/

Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of electrical QC, inspection, or related industrial construction experience.
  • Experience inspecting industrial electrical installations, power distribution, and site infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of conduit, cable tray, raceways, grounding, cabling, electrical equipment, terminations, and testing.
  • Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1 and DOE Order 414.1D.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, specifications, procedures, and work packages.
  • Experience performing field inspections and maintaining auditable quality records.
  • Experience witnessing electrical testing and verifying results against acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with ITPs, hold/witness points, NCRs, corrective actions, testing, and turnover documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Applicable electrical inspection, testing, or quality certifications.
  • Previous DOE, nuclear, or other highly regulated industrial construction experience.
  • Prior experience leading or coordinating electrical QC inspection activities preferred for Lead-level assignments.
