Pay: $9.11 per hour | Paid Bi-Weekly

Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM

Applicants must be available to work during store business hours, including Saturdays as scheduled.

The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store in Aiken, SC is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Store Helper to join our team.

The Store Helper receives, sorts, prices, and prepares donated items for display and sale. This position also assists customers, helps maintain a clean and organized store, and supports the daily operations of the Family Thrift Store.

This is a physically active position and is not primarily a sitting position. Applicants must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the workday and perform frequent lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying.

Moderate physical effort is required. The position involves lifting and carrying light to heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance when needed.

• Receive, sort, price, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale.
• Determine the suitability and pricing of donated items according to established standards.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, sorting room, and other store areas.
• Assist customers with selecting merchandise and respond to questions in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Assist individuals who are dropping off donations.
• Move, organize, and display merchandise as needed.
• Perform other store-related duties as assigned.

• No formal education or previous experience is required.
• Dependable and able to meet attendance and scheduling requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service.
• Must be available to work during store business hours, including Saturdays as scheduled.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position requires continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and some climbing throughout the workday.

Most duties are performed while standing. Sitting is generally limited to brief or occasional periods.
