Description
This position is responsible for all related service activities on the sanitary sewer collections system and a variety of administrative and intra‑departmental support duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Repair – Travel throughout the trunk line system and the plant to repair/replace/install sewer manhole components, air release valves, storm‑water drain lines, and catch basins. This also requires painting and repainting the equipment. In completing maintenance, may operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, skid steers, backhoes, and dozers. Repairs may necessitate welding, grinding, cutting, drilling, and use of torch equipment.
- Inspection – Travel to lift stations and around the plant to inspect pumps and other equipment; complete necessary logs. Inspections may result in repairs or replacement of equipment. Inspections for PUP require use of video camera packages (pole, closed‑circuit pipe crawlers, pontoon, and handheld cameras).
- Collection – Take samples at each inspection and follow up to ensure repairs are completed and comply with results. Audit contains a 128‑point checklist; attention to detail is imperative.
- Operate with limited supervision in repairing and installing replacement equipment. Purchase of new equipment must be approved by management. Challenges may include mobilizing equipment in remote or swampy terrain, equipment malfunction, and dealing with difficult citizens.

technical college or AA in Industrial Maintenance.
Minimum Amount of Job‑Related
Experience:
2 years.
Minimum Level of any
Required Qualifications , Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, or any Relevant Knowledge, Job Skill or Equivalent
Experience:
trades, welding, CDL, collections systems operator license.
Specific physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 lbs, crawling, climbing, dealing with weather and chemical hazards.
