Description
The City of Aiken is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Public Services Department.
Examples of Duties
- Operates a variety of heavy equipment
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies of the City of Aiken
- Safe operation of garbage truck, knuckle boom loader, sweeper, roll off truck, leaf vacuum and other heavy equipment
- Maintains equipment in good operating condition
- Reports required maintenance as needed
- Prepares required documentation
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B in good standing
- Ability to read maps and cope with outdoor weather conditions
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Physical capabilities of exiting and re-entry of equipment when necessary
- Ability to retrieve full roll carts and roll them to the street
- Previous driving experience (preferred)
