Description Under the supervision of the Supervisor Category Management – Indirect, the Contracts Analyst will create, write, and maintain accurate and professional contracts and tenders in accordance with tendering laws and corporate policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain contracts to comply with current legal standards
- Create tenders to comply with current tendering law and corporate policies
- Document, maintain and file proposal evaluations both pre and post award
- Manage and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external parties while adhering to company practices and policies
- Research possible contract opportunities and recommend contract solutions
- Apply contracts to all aspects of the business in the various departments throughout the company
- Assist various departments with the tendering processes and supplier evaluations
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, professional documentation
- Self‑starter able to work independently or in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present information to various audiences
- Broad understanding of contract practices and ability to apply them to evolving situations
- Strong customer‑service focus and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal clients and suppliers
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze and evaluate possible solutions
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines
- Ownership of tasks and delivery on commitments
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access); SAP is an asset
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Business or a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years supply chain experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Contracts role, including creating contracts, issuing RFx (requests for information, quotes, proposals) and evaluating tenders
- A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset
- A certificate or diploma in supply chain management (SCM) is considered an asset
Special Conditions Travel within Alberta may be required.
