You will oversee the Municipal Emergency Management Program, managing a team of about 150 and collaborating with province-wide partners. Key responsibilities include directing emergency responses, training municipalities in the Incident Command System, and ensuring effective business continuity plans are in place across the organization. Furthermore, you will actively promote community preparedness initiatives and coordinate responses to extreme weather events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee Municipal Emergency Management strategies
• Direct the city’s response initiatives during emergencies
• Conduct annual reviews and audits of emergency plans
• Develop and coordinate community preparedness outreach
• Recruit and maintain emergency personnel training
Requirements:
• Degree in Disaster Management or Public Safety
• 10+ years in emergency management fields
• CEM or AEM certification necessary
• ABCP certification required
• Proven track record in leadership during incidents
