ABOUT THE ROLE:
The points below highlight the Human Resources Generalist duties:
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functionsAdvises front line supervisors and managers on appropriate resolution of employee relations issuesPlans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward company goals and an effective hand-off to operationsFacilitates and documents employee engagements meetingsPartners with HR leadership to ensure critical or recurring issues have a resolution planLeads supervisory and management training specific to HR-related topicsResponds to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, procedures and programsManages non-exempt recruiting activities and exempt recruiting through first level supervisory roles, including organizing and executing job fairsConducts employee investigations and recommends appropriate resolutionManages leave of absence processAnswers unemployment claims; prepares for and attends unemployment hearingsMay monitor temporary agency performance and complianceMay supervise a non-exempt Human Resources CoordinatorOther duties as required and assignedRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and OutlookExcellent communication skills, written and oralExcellent critical thinking skillsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workersAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsBENEFITS:
