Position Overview
At CESO, a Staff Accountant II performs advanced accounting tasks and provides comprehensive project financial support. The Staff Accountant II works independently on recurring responsibilities, conducts analysis, and contributes to process improvements while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities- Complete complex project setups aligned with contract terms.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to analyze project WIP and A/R aging, and as needed work to resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process monthly client invoices independently.
- Maintain accurate project financial records.
- Process accounts payable, coding, and reconciliations independently.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Post daily cash receipts and clear bank activity in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Support month‑end close and prepare schedules.
- Support bank statements and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Participate in process improvements and software enhancements.
- Utilize strong analytical and communication skills to support decision‑making and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Help improve financial workflows and implement process efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is required.
- A/E industry experience is preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles is preferred.
- FAR knowledge is preferred.
- Notary in State of Business is preferred.
- Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate working knowledge of Excel is required.
- Proficient with accounting software;
Deltek is preferred.
