General Overview
Under general supervision, the Clerk processes, reviews, and issues titles for motor vehicles, watercraft, and other transportation assets. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong knowledge of local, state, and federal title regulations, and exceptional customer‑service skills. The Clerk works directly with the public to ensure all title transactions are handled accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Any combination of training and work experience that shows possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below.
- Must be able to meet bonding requirements.
- Pre‑employment screening required; criminal background check and drug test mandatory.
- Experience in customer service and cashier duties preferred.
- Clerical experience, typing, data entry and retrieval, and operation of word‑processing equipment.
- Strong customer‑service skills, empathy, problem‑solving ability, and a positive attitude.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy laws.
- Familiarity with data‑entry systems and office software.
- Review and process title applications for motor vehicles, watercraft, mobile homes, and non‑conventional vehicles.
- Assist the public in person and over the phone with title‑related inquiries.
- Answer questions about title status, fees, and required documentation for title transfer.
- Verify required documents such as proof of ownership, sales tax receipts, identification, and lien information.
- Accurately enter title data into the Ohio Automated Title Processing System (ATPS) and maintain current records of all transactions.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly filed and stored in accordance with policy.
- Calculate and collect applicable fees for title processing and related services.
- Provide customers with accurate payment information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations when processing titles.
- Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to title applications.
- Perform other duties as required by the Title Bureau.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm. Some Saturday and Monday evening work hours may be required.
Advertised Salary$17.06 hourly (approximately $1,364.80 bi‑weekly or $35,484.80 annually).
