About the Opportunity

This is an open position with Ohio Edison Service Company, a subsidiary of First Energy Corp. The role reports to the Vice President of Ohio Operations and will be located on site in Akron/Fairlawn.

Job Description

This position serves as a strategic advisor and operational partner to the Vice President of Operations. The role drives cross‑functional initiatives, ensures alignment between strategy and financial planning, and facilitates effective decision‑making through analysis, reporting, and coordination. The incumbent assists with executive communications, oversees project execution, and supports the VP in achieving departmental goals with precision and efficiency.

The Analyst plays an essential role in streamlining operations, enhancing organizational responsiveness, and maintaining strategic focus across the Ohio Operations domain. Acting as a central point of contact and ensuring continuity between leadership priorities and execution teams, the Analyst enables the VP to focus on high‑impact decisions while ensuring that initiatives are executed with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities Performance Reporting & Strategic Planning
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all categories.
  • Serving as project manager for FE Ohio business and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining quarterly performance scorecards to track and communicate key regional performance metrics.
Safety
  • Managing weekly safety performance reporting and ensuring accountability tracking for all incidents.
  • Overseeing bimonthly Field Verification/Critical Control (FVCC) completion details and maintaining comprehensive safety tracking logs.
  • Compiling, monitoring, and reporting on Chargeable Motor Vehicle Accident (CMVA) reduction plans and progress.
  • Developing and implementing annual safety plans aligned with company goals.
  • Coordinating Safety Steering Committee agendas and follow‑ups.
  • Providing general assistance and support for ad hoc safety projects.
Reliability
  • Supporting CAIDI reduction initiatives through data analysis and process improvement recommendations.
  • Conducting ad hoc analyses related to staffing levels, service center locations, and reliability performance.
Financial Performance
  • Tracking and monitoring shop‑level activities including:
    • Small tools management
    • Power On Follow Up (POFU) backlog tracking
    • DMOH/DMUG time charging (reporting YTD hours and auditing existing hours)
  • Overseeing weekly capitalization reporting and identifying opportunities for improved performance.
  • Developing and maintaining Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) reporting and forecasting tools.
  • Facilitating regional performance review meetings with directors to discuss financial results and opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with SAP, Qlikview, UI Planner, and Power Plan a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Display analytical abilities, including problem solving and decision making.
  • Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and develop relationships.
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow.
  • Exercise independent judgment on basic projects and assignments.
Qualifications at the Analyst II Level
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
