Job OverviewThe Construction Project Manager supports EPC Project Managers and Program Managers in overseeing end-to-end construction execution from pre-construction through project closeout and warranty. This role is accountable for safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company standards.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities for one or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost development, establishing critical objectives.
- Promote and manage Safety & Health performance across project teams and subcontractors.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, proposals, and estimates.
- Develop and manage client relationships and interface on proposals and project matters.
- Implement assigned sections of the Project Execution Plan, including QA/QC, safety, staffing, procurement, and subcontracting plans.
- Coordinate staffing plans; train teams; and optimize cost-effective utilization of staff across disciplines.
- Oversee site layout, mobilization/demobilization, permits, and compliance requirements.
- Direct downstream RFP and bid processes, subcontractor prequalification, evaluation, and award recommendations.
- Review and present project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on deliverable development and distribution per schedule.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change management, claims mitigation, and contract closeout.
- Oversee invoicing, commissioning/startup coordination, documentation, and record retention.
- Perform safety, quality, progress, and financial audits; manage non-conformance reporting.
- Lead materials receiving, inventory control, storage, and logistics.
- Support governmental, industry, and public communications as needed.
- Mentor and train project staff; provide performance feedback; manage labor relations and agreements.
- Manage labor burdens, craft classifications, crew rates, earned value, schedule, and cost metrics.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership in construction project execution (EPC/CM environments).
- Expertise in safety management, quality assurance, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
- Contract negotiation and change management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with project management, scheduling, cost control, and document control software.
- Multi-discipline project experience (electrical, mechanical, civil).
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of relevant construction project management experience.
Substitution: Applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
