Transportation Project Manager

A well-established, multidisciplinary civil and planning firm in Ohio is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead impactful infrastructure and active transportation projects across the state. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical leadership, client relationships, and mentoring teams-while working on projects that genuinely improve how people experience their communities.

You'll manage a diverse portfolio that may include roadways, trails, sidewalks, complete streets, and community-focused public projects, partnering with state and local agencies as well as municipal stakeholders. From early planning through delivery, you'll own scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and deliver transportation and related public infrastructure projects
  • Manage budgets, schedules, consultants, and internal project teams
  • Mentor and supervise staff while supporting professional development
  • Serve as the primary client contact and present to public stakeholders
  • Prepare proposals, define scope, and help identify future project opportunities
  • Ensure quality standards, risk management, and regulatory coordination
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, planning, landscape architecture, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in transportation or multi-modal projects
  • Comfortable managing projects independently and collaboratively
  • Experience (or strong interest) in trails and active transportation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Professional licensure or certification (PE, AICP, PLA/RLA, or similar) preferred
  • Proficiency with standard design and project management software
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Hybrid flexibility and local travel only
  • A collaborative, people-first culture where voices are heard
  • Mission-driven projects that enhance safety, accessibility, and quality of life
  • Opportunities to grow, lead, and influence the direction of projects and teams

If you're passionate about transportation, community impact, and thoughtful project leadership, this is a role worth exploring.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, accident and critical illness, life insurance, wellness programs, and education reimbursement. Flexible in-office, hybrid, or work-from-home schedules are available, along with paid time off, vacation, holiday schedules, 401(k), and bonus opportunities. Community volunteer initiatives, team committees, and career advancement programs are also offered.
