The ACHD Cardiologistwill ensure high–quality care for adults with congenital heart disease and facilitate seamless transition from pediatric to adult services by strengthening collaborative care pathways with adult cardiology, cardiac surgery, anesthesia, and other specialties.
Adult Congenital Heart ServiceAkron Children's offers over 800 adults with congenital heart disease comprehensive diagnostics, lifestyle counseling, medical management, and interventional and treatment for the full spectrum of conditions related to congenital heart disease (CHD). The team specializes in the complex anatomy and heart function of adults with CHD, focusing on education and counseling that will help empower patients to monitor their own health.
Required Qualifications- MD or DO degree
- Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease
- ACHD board eligibility or certification
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state
- Demonstrated experience caring for adult congenital heart disease patients
- ACHD board certification
- Experience working across pediatric and adult healthcare systems
- Academic interest in education, quality improvement, or clinical research
