Adjunct Instructor of Philosophy

Scope:

The Department of English, Philosophy & Religion in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a part-time, adjunct faculty position in Philosophy. Candidates with backgrounds in all areas of Philosophy will be considered.

This individual will serve as the instructor of record for professional ethics, philosophy and film, or other courses as assigned. Typical assignments include one or two courses each semester, depending on student demand. Questions concerning the position should be directed to the Department Chair, Dr. Douglas Dowland (d-dowland ).

Required Skills:

The successful candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills, as well as the interest and ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom. Candidates with experience teaching undergraduate, introductory Philosophy courses are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Philosophy or 18 hours graduate coursework in Philosophy is required. Those with a doctorate in Philosophy and experience teaching Philosophy at the university level are encouraged to apply.
