The Mandel ECE is an award-winning Early Childhood Enrichment Center located in Akron. We provide a comprehensive and enriching curriculum that nurtures our young children to grow, thrive, and develop all in a safe environment. We promote early learning through play, songs, sensory exploration and language-rich experiences. We are looking for a full‑time, seasoned, highly skilled early childhood classroom and office professional who has a passion for serving childcare families, staff, and administration in a caring, educational setting rooted in the mission of the Shaw JCC of Akron.

ECE Staff Coordinator position at our center plays a crucial role in supporting the overall management of the childcare center. Collaboration with the ECE Director and the center Administration ensures a supportive and productive environment.

  • Full-time salaried position – 40 hours weekly
  • Paid sick time and PTO accrual

Responsibilities
  • Monday – Friday (must be able to work full-time with opening and closing availability)
  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff, providing exceptional customer service and coordinating the daily shift schedule
  • Curriculum and Program Development
  • Supervise and support staff members, providing guidance and training as needed
  • Assist in the implementation of a high‑quality educational program
  • Ensure that the educational programs meet the needs of all children
  • Support teachers in creating engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Remain up to date on licensing rules and regulations as mandated by ODJFS
  • Cultivate positive relationships and maintain effective communication with families, staff, administration, and community partners
  • Coordinate, along with the director, the center calendar and events, including family and staff engagement activities
  • Maintain an organized and efficient environment, contributing to the center’s overall success
Qualifications
  • Associate of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field
