Description:

Archbishop Hoban High School seeks a candidate to serve as the long-term substitute teacher in our Math Department. This long-term assignment begins August 17, 2026, and concludes November 2026. The course content includes Introduction to Algebra and Algebra II, which are taught in a modified block schedule format.

• Maximize classroom learning while facilitating lesson plans.
• Teach college preparatory curricula and assignments that align with school standards in a block schedule.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assign classwork, homework, and track student progression.
• Bring experience with, or are open to, various methods and techniques to meet the needs of the students and course objectives.
• Maintain a respectful, orderly classroom and follow classroom and school procedures.
• Encourage and foster a culture of mutual respect.
• Participate in the development of teaching policies, procedures, and methodologies.
• Evaluate and report student progress as scheduled.
• Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.

• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Substitute Teaching license (or ability to obtain a substitute license) or a valid Ohio teaching license.
• Prior high school teaching experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.).
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.

• A substitute or teaching license is required
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
