Tutor – Job Code 039 – Title I Funded – 4‑6 hours a day (24 hours/week for 38 weeks). Hourly Rate: $35.88. This is a State Teachers Retirement System position within the AEA bargaining unit.
Qualifications – Required- Must possess a valid Ohio teaching license: P‑3, 1‑8, K‑8, 4‑9 (ELA or Math), or 7‑12 (ELA or Math).
- Assist identified students to meet or exceed state academic achievement standards.
- Articulate learning objectives and guide the learning process toward curriculum goals.
- Plan and deliver individualized learning experiences, providing written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Design authentic learning experiences that incorporate collaboration, problem‑based learning, inquiry, and curriculum integration.
- Organize and plan for learning based on knowledge of subject matter, students, community, and curriculum goals.
- Assist in the planning for intervention and remediation in math and literacy for students who have not mastered content standards.
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies for each student’s academic growth.
- Proficiently use technology as an instructional and management tool.
- Use continuous, authentic, and appropriate assessment and evaluation measures to improve instruction and student learning, and provide feedback including progress reports.
- Remain flexible, resourceful, innovative, and effectively manage the design and execution of both formal and informal learning experiences.
- Provide learning opportunities that support the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of students.
- Model the teaching expectations that students are expected to achieve.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) model.
- Maintain and improve professional competence and employ evidence‑based best practices to inform instruction.
- Work collaboratively to improve instruction and learning while sharing outcome responsibilities with school and community.
- Use a variety of communication methods and technologies to interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Maximize opportunities for student success by building positive working relationships with students.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Develop reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures, maintain order fairly and justly.
- Report to and be supervised by the Principal.
