About

the Opportunity

The Student Success Coach manages the delivery and implementation of onboarding, core interventions, and support services for assigned students in accordance with Student Services initiatives and guidelines. The Student Success Coach serves as the primary contact for new students and families, communicatingfrequentlyand addressing questions or concerns to ensure a strong start to school. This role also provides oversight of educational interventions and supports totargeted student populations toassistwith increased engagement, student learning outcomes, and successful completion of school (or grade level standards).

Responsibilities include to:

  • Support new and returning students and families through the onboarding process and completion of requiredtasks
  • Maintain weekly open office hours/help sessions to support new students and families
  • Make welcome calls (in coordination with homeroom teacher)
  • Follow up on non-completion items for newstudents
  • Identify issues and problem solve with other departments and vendors as needed for prompt and professionalresolution
  • Participate in the Admissions Counseling process for applicants and students
  • Review transcripts
  • Assist students and families with courseselection
  • Answer questions about the school program
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for school administration in developing plans to address barriers to full achievement of attendance, academic, and behavioralgoals
  • Provide research-based strategies to give students and parents the necessary skills and knowledge to help them communicate effectively with teachers and administratorsin order toensure student goals aremet
  • Provide academic supports when needed
  • Facilitate individual and group training/support and provide academic resources to help students increase academic achievement
  • Collaborate with students regularly to check in on progress in classes, keeping students accountable for achieving their academics, attendance, engagement, and behavioralgoals
  • Contact parents weekly to provide updates on student progress.
  • Work in Partnership with teachers and parents on evaluation of student progress and implementation of student objectives
  • Conduct conferences with parents and students, both in person and over the phone asneeded
  • Prepare for and/or attend studentgatherings
  • Maintainaccuratedocumentation of student performance, progress, needs, and academicsupport
  • Participate in and coordinate the development of pertinent professional development activities
  • Work in collaboration with school leadership and national teams on re-enrollment activities and sessions for families
  • Schedule face to face meetings with students bimonthly at regional locations
  • Act as Mentor to assigned group of students
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About You
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Services, Related Field
  • 2+ years of experience in the K-12 educational setting
  • Experience working with at-riskpreferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment whilemaintainingthat confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional clientsituations
  • Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated.
  • Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department,self and/orcompany welfare.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently.
